Gething's educational journey took him to Aberystwyth University, where he became the first Black president of the National Union of Students Wales . After completing his solicitor training in Cardiff, he specialized in employment law and became a partner at Thompsons Solicitors. At just 34 years old, he assumed the role of President of Wales TUC, making history as the first mixed-race person in that position.
